I am a junior road and cyclocross racer and I started racing when I was 10 years old. I've come a long way since then by upgrading to a category 3 on the road and category 2 in cyclocross last year. I've been racing national championships and other big races for a few years now and I wanted to take it to a new level. After working with him at a USA Cycling camp I attended this year, I finally decided to have Jon start to coach me and it has been so helpful. I have learned to train with more goals and more structure in mind. Jon knows how much I should be riding any given week based on primary events coming up. He takes out a lot of the guess work in training and makes it simpler so I can focus harder on races and workouts. Along with helping me with training, I also consider Jon a great friend who can help me out with whatever I need.

John Noonan

Age: 16
Height: 5 '9
Weight: 155 lbs
Current Residence: Evergreen, Colorado
Years Racing: 7 years
Strengths on the bike: criteriums, road races, cyclocross
P2P Athlete since 2004
I've been coached and mentored by Jon since I first started racing back in 2004, and the quality of the cycling knowledge I have gained from him has been nothing short of astounding. Jon is the best person to ask about anything from training plans, leg pains, bike fits to nutrition. I can honestly say that without Jon I wouldn't have a clue as to function as a competitive cyclist..

Years Racing: 7 total, current Cat 3
Strengths on the bike: All Arounder - Still deciding
Peak to Peak Athlete Since: 2005
I love road racing! Cyclocross was too cold, track was too much travel and I've reserved mountain biking purely for my enjoyment. I have a BMX bike for fun too.
Jon has been my coach since 2005. He has helped me in so many ways that I can never repay him. Podium finish at USAC Nationals, ACA Best Overall Rider to name a few. The results are secondary for me. He and Kathy have worked with my diet, equipment, bike fit, maintenance and much more. The approach is always focused on finding a way to do it so it works for me. Peak to Peak has kept cycling FUN and that's why I do it.
When I'm not riding, I run Cross Country for ThunderRidge High School, hang with friends and do homework.

Peak to Peak Athlete Since: 2009
I am a competitive athlete from very young whose priorities have changed from athletics to family, friends and work. With staying active (and competitive) somewhere in the mix of all of it! Being self employed I found myself choosing to work just a little more instead of go for a ride. Over the last few years I have had some OK results for as little as I found myself riding. When I did ride I was the classic “Masters” athlete. Taking my few hours and just riding hard because I had to (or thought). Meeting Jon a couple of years ago and spending some time with him and Kathy last fall, having a coach was a thought in the back of my mind. My goal with becoming a Peak to Peak athlete is accountability (on my part) and improvement on the use of the time that I do get to ride. I now have an organized plan to accomplish the goals that I set out there with Jon. The first goal is just getting my time on the bike, which I get now. Now I have a structured plan on top of that. As a plus my wife says I am not as irritating. I don’t get a lot of time to train with kids, our family schedule and work. Jon has made the best plan each week to fit with the hours I have available and the areas of improvement I need and want to focus on. So far I have learned a lot about myself with the testing I completed at the Training Center and the program Jon has for me. It is also fun to look at the plan and fill out the training log with goals accomplished. I plan to be a Peak to Peak athlete for a while.
